Being watched

There are lots of birds in my garden, always, could be because I feed them, a lot, I kind of like the company. Still, I think they believe it's their garden, and now that the weather is so nice, and I tend to spend a lot of time out there - they're not too happy, and keep watching me.

I think this one was actually planning to come over but when I suddenly turned and stared at him he wasn't so sure anymore.

Why there is so little activity on this blog:

The weather is way too nice to be sitting inside by the computer all day.

No, I’m not dead and neither have I stopped blogging either, I’ve just not felt that I’ve had anything to blog about. And I don’t now either, but I felt as if this blogspot had been quiet for such a long time that I should just write something here to let you know that I am still alive and kickin’ and back in England where the sun is shining – and still I find that I miss Norway, a little bit, or rather friends and family there. But I’ll got back by the end of May and then my stay in England is very fast drawing to a end.

Sad news is that my friend who I was going to the Canary Islands with by the end of April had a really bad accident and we had to cancel that trip. The good news is that we have booked a new one on 30th of May for two weeks, hopefully she will have recovered sufficiently by then and will be able to truly appreciate our holiday.

I have now also joined Facebook, I think it should be possible for you to see my profile on this link. I was sceptical when I joined, but now I quite like it, just wish even more people I know would consider joining as well.

Anyhow, I’m off to uni soon so can’t sit here and write “nothing” for the world to see.

Done

It is done; I have finished my Viking novel. After the redraft I’ve been doing the last couple of days it is now a little over 56 000 words, and I put it in the mail to the publisher this afternoon. So now all I can do is wait – and focus on other writing projects I’ve got going.

First draft finished

I forgot to tell you yesterday that I finished the first draft of my Viking story. About 55 000 words, which probably to some of you sounds a bit short, but I have done a word count in the typical books that this publisher publishes and they are between 54 000 and 62 000 so I don’t think I’m completely off.

Besides, today and tomorrow I’ve got lots of redrafting to do, might be another 1000 words in there somewhere because I’ve got a couple of ideas about things I want to develop a bit further in the story.

It’ll have to be finished by Tuesday though, then I’m putting it in the mail to make sure it reaches the publisher before the deadline on the 16th of April.

45 000 words

I’ve got 45 000 words… and counting…

I expect that my Viking novel will be about 55 – 60 000 words, so I should be able to finish it tomorrow, Saturday or on Sunday at the latest.

Guess it’s a blessing that we haven’t really got much of an Easter weather this year, or I’d have spent way too much time outside to be able to finish the novel on time.
